Basketball Player CAL Berkley

Jazlen Green

Tell us about you! How did you get into sport? Where are you from? What is your story?
My name is Jazzy, I am from Upland, CA. I play guard for the Cal Berkeley, Women’s Basketball team. I got into my sport because of my dad and my brothers. My dad used to coach my older brothers and when I watched them play I always wanted to be a part of it.

What is a fun fact about you or something not many people know about you?
As a child I had epilepsy.

What has been your biggest struggle throughout your career? How have you dealt with or overcome that?
The biggest struggle so far has been staying in the moment rather than looking 10 steps ahead. I am still working on it but learning to take a breath and allow myself to be in that minute at that moment.

Injury is a part of life, and sport - how did you deal with yours?
By relying on the love that was around me and remaining faithful through it all.

What’s your favourite pre/post sweat snack? Your must have treat?
PRE WORKOUT RICE KRISPY TREAT. Post, sweet snack like a fruit snack or some kind of Gatorade shake.

Do you have any pre-competition rituals?
Praying, listening to music and hitting the court before anyone else.

What gets you most excited about being a part of the Stoko Ambassador program?
Stoko is the future of recovery technology, and it can actually make a difference for someone who has these types of injuries.
