Alexandre Lavoie

Tell us about you! Why and how did you get into your sport?
Hi my is Alexandre Lavoie and I'm from Lac-Beauport, QC. My dad used to be on the national freestyle ski team years ago so he put me on skis at the age of 3 and I started competing around 9 years old. Still loving it to this day.

What's a fun fact about you?
I'm a professional karting driver in my free time and a big mountain biker.

What has been your biggest challenge throughout your career? How did you overcome it?
My biggest challenge was when I tore my ACL, MCL, and meniscus in my left knee in 2018. I missed almost 2 years of competition but I came back after 18 months of rehab and hard work.

Injury is a part of life and sport - how did you deal with yours?
I watched videos of other athletes who went through the same process and spoke with some of my teammates in my town. With the help of my trainers and friends I managed to recover from my injuries.

What gets you the most excited about Stoko?
I really like the product and the professionalism of the team.

Do you have any pre-competition rituals?
I always wake up 3 hours before I have to be at the hill and I listen to my competition playlist.

Favourite snack before/after a sweat session?
Green apples.
